Day 06 - Weather bound in Doonbeg.
Waiting for a weather window in a lovely campsite (Strand Camping Doonbeg) on a deceptively calm harbor.
Resting, doing chart work, washing baselayers, calling home.
My buddy Aodhán came through with a resupply and homemade lasagna. David and I told him sea stories over fish and chips, and he told David about our kayak camping trips as kids: paddling sit-on-tops, our gear in bin bags.
Trying to stay patient but not lose the edge we’ve been sharpening over the past few days. Still living out of the boat, ready to go when conditions calm down.
Sadly, David has to get back to the real world tomorrow. The next stage of this adventure will be solo and with paddling friends along the way.
I couldn’t have asked for a better teammate. We got some of the hardest parts done with speed, intensity, and a direct headland-to-headland style. And we didn’t get sick of each other. Thank you, Brother!

Charlie, you're doing so amazing, congrats for a STRONG start!! From one TeamFox endurance athlete to another, remember a couple bits of advice:
- it's truly at marathon (well about 75 marathons actually!) NOT a sprint
- it's a mind game, stay confident in yourself
- it's about something so much bigger than yourself, all those with Parkinson's AND their families
Let's find that CURE together!
