Love it! I'm going to try something like this. One thing I've been reflecting on is connection with the water. If I'm connected with the element, I can move with it and there's nothing to worry about. If I'm nervous and twitchy and reacting, I'm headed for trouble.
I love how explained the reasons you sought the mantra and how it calmed you. The sea of emotion is like a the turbulent ocean you find yourself in. At the mercy of negative self-talk, the forces of the sea, you are helpless if you try to reject and ignore them. If you notice and accept these forces, you can use a skill such as a mantra repetition, like getting on a boat to ride the waves of emotion. We stop using the mantra, we stop using the boat, and those thoughts may come right back. You illustrated this.
Keep up the great work and stay safe. Keep your head on a swivel. Inspiring and motivating. Thanks Charlie.
It was a really exciting adventure for all of us. Even though I wasn't with you all on the summit, I surely was in my memories. Thank you, Charlie, for your great company.... and yes, you came back stronger and definitely in good shape!
Charlie, I'm glad you don't get cold feet on the mountain but be careful so you don't spoil your grand tour. Love, Dad
Thanks, Dad! Made it home with all my toes.
Thanks, Charlie. I learned something from you today about mantras. Thanks indeed!
Thanks for reading. Another great mantra is one of yours: "Habit is a mighty ally!"
Some Veterans Yoga Project favorites:
Inhale, Exhale I change my thoughts, I change the world
Aum
I am here now
One, two, one, two
May all beings be happy and well
Breathe in, I am calm, breathe out, I am content Baking soda
I am one with the Force, the Force is with me
I like the baking soda mantra because it is so minimal and abstract it helps in any situation for me.

I AM CONNECTED TO THE SEA. WE MOVE TOGETHER.

YES! Acceptance is the answer, as in all things. Thanks for reading, Josh. The inspiration is mutual!
